我院拟与墨尔本大学合作招收墨尔本大学博士生申请人1名。招生对象是华南师大计算机学院（软件学院）毕业班学生（本科09级，研究生10或11级），有意愿的同学请尽快跟汤庸教授（www.scholat.com/ytang）联系。
培养方式：第一年在华南师大信息服务软件研究中心（省工程中心）从事数据管理和数据挖掘领域（包括时态-空间数据管理、社会网络、云计算等）研究工作，由墨尔本大学教授与汤庸教授合作指导完成华南师大学士论文或硕士论文，毕业后进入墨尔本大学博士阶段学习（免学费并提供奖学金）。
墨尔本大学博士招生要求（包括英语水平）和奖学金情况如下：
The students will enroll in the PhD program in the department of Computing and Information in the University of Melbourne, which is the top University in Australia (ranking top 20 by THES and top 60 by SJTU world wide).
The students will perform research in hot areas in data management and data mining such as spatio-temporal data management, social networks, cloud computing, etc. Students with good math or algorithm background are preferred.
PhD in the University of Melbourne usually takes 3.5-4 years. The scholarship is about AU$2000/month. The average living cost in Melbourne is 800/month.
